SOBOBA CASINO

Sunday, April 25, 2010 SOBOBA CASINO

Soboba Casino Apple Valley, CA (USA) - Gladiator Challenge (GC), one of the top MMA promotions in California, will bring “Maximum Force” to Soboba Casino in San Jacinto on Sunday, April 25th. 21 fights are scheduled, and they will feature some of the top young talent in Gladiator Challenge today. “Maximum Force” is sure to excite local fight fans.

Gates open at 4:30 PM, with fights beginning at 6:00 PM. Fans can purchase tickets for “Maximum Force” at www.virtualboxoffice.com, or call (888) 826-8858.

The main event will feature a bout between UFC veteran Wes “The Soldier” Combs (15-4 with 11 KO/TKO’s) and up-and-comer Virgil Zwicker (8-1 with 6 KO/TKO’s). Starting off his career with eleven straight victories, which included a win in his GC debut, Combs was invited to compete on The Ultimate Fighter. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Combs was unable to compete, but was able to return after the show to fight at the finale. “The Soldier” returned to Gladiator Challenge earlier this year after a four-year hiatus from the promotion, finishing Archie Thompson with a TKO via punches. Now determined to make up for lost time, “The Soldier” has a tough task in front of him. Virgil Zwicker has only been defeated once, and the two-time Gladiator Challenge veteran possesses a killer instinct that is second to none. With two skilled fighters who love to finish fights, the fans are in for a main event war!

Also featured at “Maximum Force” will be a scrap for the GC female super fight championship between Chloe Johnson and Christina Marks. In addition, the GC Native American Featherweight belt will be on the line as Robbie Peralta (9-3 with 9 KO/TKO’s) will battle the undefeated Xavier “X-man” Stokes (2-0). Also showcased on the card will be famed GC ring announcer “The Ironman” Tyson Johnson, as well as submission expert Kenny “The Krusher” McCorkell (7-2 with 5 submissions).

Soboba fight fans are in for an exciting night of action at “Maximum Force.” GC owner/promoter Tedd Williams stated, “We are elated to be back at Soboba. The fans always respond well to the furious brand of fight action, and I’m sure Sunday will be no different!”
